COLD CAVE
27 April 2012 - Guggenheim Museum - NYC
Just a snippet for those who were unable to attend. Sorry to be such a tease.
Come out with a new record, please. I need some motivation to face the world.

COLD CAVE IN MUTHAFUCKIN’ PICO RIVERA
Most of you don’t know where the fuck Pico Rivera is. This is my backyard, this is where I grew up. I’m from East LA and I mean “Boulevard Nights” “American Me” “Bound by Honor” “Mi Familia” “Stand and Deliver” and the Cheech Marin classic “Born In East LA” EAST LA okay! (Imagine me speaking with a ghetto accent).
Pico Rivera served as an agricultural resource for the San Gabriel Valley until WWII (my great grandparents worked these farms). After the war, the area evolved into a residential/industrial area. This is where people from ELA moved to escape the street gangs. This is where our families worked (it was better than suffering the degradation of crossing the 1st street bridge). These warehouses are where I learned how to drive stick-shift on the weekends. Family, friends, and numerous co-workers (I work at a nearby hospital) live here!
Of course I can’t help but be envious, however, I think it’s the fucking coolest shit ever that my favorite band played in my back yard.
I am having an awesome time in NYC right now because of COLD CAVE. I am staying with an amazing person because I met her last year at COLD CAVE. I have shed the skin of a shyness that is criminally vulgar because of COLD CAVE. I’ve been spoiled, so I suppose it’s just time this brat learned to share.
1 ticket for Cold Cave this Friday
Two brainiacs cannot make the trek from college town. I’ve got ONE spare ticket for $27
HOWEVER, if you’re a true fan, I may be able to work something out on your behalf with the person who actually paid for the ticket.I must be in a good mood right now because….. if you send me a note about how much you LOVE Cold Cave and how much you want to go to this show, I will pay my friend for your ticket and I will give it to you for FREEEE!

Anonymous asked: I hate to break it to you, but you ARE a groupie. They see you as such... trust me.
Oh no dear, trust me, I know about these things. What people think of me is what they think of me, there is nothing I can do about that. All I mean to say is that groupies usually have some sexual aim, whereas my admiration is not based on such simple things. I know (as well as those who matter to me) that I am a lady who is a fan of beautiful art. What can I say my little anon? Haters gonna hate.
At Cold Cave gig in San Diego
People ask me what my deal is or who I am or why I’m at all the Cold Cave shows, etc. Simply answered, I am a fan and the reason I am at all of the Cold Cave shows is because I must. There is no other explanation I can provide. It’s un-treaded territory for me, this whole being compelled to worship at the Cold Cave altar thing. People have referred to me as a groupie, and while I don’t object to groupies as such, I would have to be classified as the anti-groupie. It’s just not for me, it’s not my style. My adoration transcends sexuality, it’s far more complex than basic human instinct. The stimulation is cerebral, emotional, intellectual, and seemingly perpetual for me.
